Prospective motion correction with reacquisition


This video shows a comparison between Prospective Motion Correction (ProMoCo) without reacquisition versus ProMoCo with reacquisition. The data was acquired using a 1mm iso-tropic protocol, on a Siemens 3T Prisma scanner with a standard 64-channel head coil. Parallel Imaging / iPAT was used with an acceleration factor of 2. GRAPPA was used to reconstruct the accelerated data. The subject moved during acquisition of the GRAPPA calibration data, which caused artifacts and noise in the reconstruction. The ProMoCo system corrected for the new position, while reacquisition of lines acquired during motion led to improved GRAPPA calibration data and the clearer image seen on the right.
